ozols:

POSSESSION is one of the best horrors I’ve ever seen, truly possessing (wink). Isabelle Adjani gives one of the best female performances I’ve seen, it’s no wonder it took her years to shake it and refused to do another role like this. She’s also quite possibly the most beautiful woman. Sam Neill goes through pure hell, another great performance. The dynamic between these two actors is untouchable, I wonder if they could stand to be in the same room together after filming. It’s filmed beautifully between the locations, colors and close-ups, and I liked how Adjani looked and spoke to the camera in a couple scenes. Crazy ending, Cronenberg wishes he made this.

I bolded the best/most accurate bit of this review.

This is quite possibly the most beautiful photo of Vivien Leigh I’ve ever seen. Taken by Cecil Beaton in Paris, 1948.
