- About a month ago, I booked two tickets (one for me, one for a boy I liked) to the Candlelight Club in London for my friend’s birthday. It’s a fancy dress party where you have to go 20s style. Then about a week later, I got a job working at a cinema in north London. I requested today off as I had these tickets, but was scheduled to work anyway and couldn’t find cover for my shift. Annoyed, I told my friends it looked like I could no longer go to the party. So friends sold their tickets and I was planning to sell mine, as well. Then this afternoon I got a text from someone saying they could cover my shift after all. So I texted my date and told him it looked like it was still on after all. But date had in the meantime made other plans. So now I’m stuck with two tickets and feel I have to go since my shift got covered. But now I have no one to go with. What a mess!
